The First Line of Defence of Your Whole House Water Filtration SystemA spin-down sediment filter is usually installed right after the main inlet valve and in front of other water filters in a pipeline. It protects you and your appliances down stream from insoluble solid particulates and debris larger than 40 micron in the tap water, such as sand, rust chunks, worms and there eggs, etc. Spin-down filter works by using centrifugal force. The design of the head diverts water into the chamber in a fashion that circulates the water through the housing. Large dirt and debris is pushed to the outside of the clear housing by centrifugal force, and then settle down into the bottom under gravity. Other smaller particulates yet larger than 40 micron are blocked by the 316L stainless steel filter screen. Periodically open the drain valve to allow the collected debris to exit.MaintenanceWhen the water pressure obviously diminishes (like drops off 1/3 approximately), it means the filter screen is clogged, then the filter needs cleaning. Thanks to the scraper design, you don’t have to frequently take the housing off to clean the filter screen. Just rotate the scraper knob to scrape off the debris over the screen, open up the drain valve and flush it out through the drain port. But if the scraping does not help, you need to take off the housing, brush and flush the filter screen thoroughly.SpecificationsMaterial: lead-free brass (machine head), PET (filter housing), 316L stainless steel (filter screen)Filtration Precision: 40 μmMaximum Flow Rate: 20 gallons per minuteConnector: 1”MNPT, 3/4” MNPT, 3/4”FNPTFeed Water Type: municipal tap waterFeed Water Temperature: 35 6 ℉ - 100.4 ℉Filter precision: 40 micron Built-in scraper handily removes embedded impurities over the filter screen Made out of lead-free brass (machine head), 316L stainless steel (filter screen), and BPA-free PET (filter housing) Connectors: 1” MNPT, 3/4” MNPT, 3/4” FNPT Maximum water flow rate: 20 gallons per minute
